Synopsis for Skin of the Father
In an ancient neo-mythical society constantly threatened by war, we are faced with a youth’s most intimate ritual. It is customary to skin one’s deceased father and wear this skin as a sign of maturity and responsibility, both to the family and to the community as a whole. The youth is seen in the motions of contemplatively donning the skin in solitude and eventually sewing himself into it as a sign of accepting his place in his community.
Synopsis for A Moment
We, the viewers, are confronted in an attempt at a voyeuristic look into a young girl’s vulnerability. The child asserts herself almost immediately with an uncanny gaze into the camera. Frustration and anger take control as she reacts violently in a moment of weakness. Then we witness a curiosity in place of remorse as she pours blood from vessel to vessel.
Synopsis for Punishment and Reparations
Follows a wandering child in their explorations of a church and all it’s secret hiding places. There is a constant blurring of the accidental and the intentional. Does the child break into the church and set it on fire or do they amble into the church and curiously light candles? What are they doing there? Who are they running from? Where are their parents?
